Culinary Programs

In addition to the excellent dishes, our hotel offers exceptional gastronomic programs, which create an excellent atmosphere and provide great recreational opportunities for both individual guests and groups.

Wine tasting in the Wine Cellar of the Fried Estate:


3990 HUF/person(10 Euro/person)

Enjoy a wine tasting in our wine cellars on the hillside of the Fried Estate in five-minute walking distance from the Fried Castle. In the “Old” cellar you can taste the famous Hungarian ‘palinka’, made from fruits grown on the Fried Estate. The program continues with a traditional wine tasting on the wine terrace. We offer castle wines aged in oak barrels in our own winery; for appetizers, we serve home-baked cheese scones and bread slices with lard spread and red onion.

The program includes:

  • Lard spread with onions on bread slices and home-baked cheese scones.
  • Unlimited castle wine and soft drinks during the program.
  • The minimum number of participants is 4 people.
  • The duration of the program is 2 hours, but can be extended if required for 1990 HUF/person/hour (5 Euro/person/hour)

Hungarian Culinary Experience

Participate in our special wood-fired cooking activity on the Fried “Panorama” Wine Terrace! It is an excellent group program to be enjoyed with colleagues and friends. In the “Old” cellar you can taste the famous Hungarian ‘palinka’, made from fruits grown on the Fried Estate. The program continues with a traditional wine tasting on the wine terrace. We offer castle wines aged in oak barrels in our own winery; for appetizers, we serve home-baked cheese scones and lard spread bread slices with red onions. Meanwhile, our chefs prepare the main course on oper air and serve it right out of the oven. We end the program with homemade cakes for dessert.

Main course options:

  • Knuckle „Pékné” style with potato ratatouille
  • Roasted duck leg and boiled purple cabbage with grilled vegetablles

The program includes:

  • Lard spread with onions on bread and home-baked cheese scones for the wine tasting.
  • Selected main course with homemade pickles and fresh salads.
  • Two types of homemade cakes.
  • Unlimited castle wine and soft drinks during the program.

Traditional pig slaughter:



Pig slaughtering - usually organized late autumn or early winter - has a significant tradition in Eastern Europe. Our event takes place at the Panorama Wine Terrace, where we start our day with a Hungarian tradition: everyone must drink a shot of „pálinka” in order to gain strength to work. Then the guests continue with processing the pig together with a butcher, who presents the secrets of Simontornya’s cuisine, passed from father to son. After the well-deserved lunch, guests can taste wines.
